Hi Cass!
I'm writing on the iPad from Brittney's house in Vegas!
The kids finished out their semester on Thursday, I took Hadlie to the orthodontist that day and she got her bars taken off! Then River had a parent/teacher visit then we jumped in the car (everyone but dad) and drove down here. We brought dads car so that was a bit of an adventure. I didn't want to take the snow tires off the van and with just the 4 of us it made sense. But everyone is surely used to having a lot more room than that. The kids have Friday off for end of term and Monday off for Martin Luther King Day. We're staying at Britt's and loving seeing baby Penny and the rest of their family.
Friday we went walking at a park and it was great. Just a slight chill in the air but so sunny and nice. Ali and Juju went to school. Britt, one of her friends and I walked about three miles, the kids walked and played around. After that we got ready then went to Komex for lunch. It was great. Britt had never been there and she liked it too. Then we went and got Mrs. Fields cookies. Yum. After the girls got home from school we went down to the strip to the New York New York hotel.
That's a fun hotel. We walked all over the shops and had a great time. I offered to let people ride the roller coaster but nobody really wanted to! Can you believe that?
The whole reason we went down there was to go to SHAKE SHACK!!! Do you remember that from New York? Well they opened one up at that hotel and it was sooooo good! We also ran into Mike and Kristen and Tanner and friends down there. After we ate we went to the Bellagio and looked at the flower garden which was decorated for Chinese New Year. Very cool. None of the other kids remember ever doing that. So that was fun. After that we were pooped. We came home and went straight to bed. We walked over 18,000 steps that day. And Penny was a trooper going all over the place. Don't you wish you knew how many steps you were taking every day?
Yesterday - Saturday we took it a little easier. We went to the outlet mall and hung out at Britt's house and played some games. We met up with Ty and Kacee's family for an early dinner and then we went to watch Marlee play in her volleyball game. That was fun too.
Today we're going to Sacrament meet with Britt then over to the Allred’s then over to Jens. We'll go home tomorrow morning. It's been fun but we've missed you a lot this week! Everyone we're with comments about it too. I'll send you some pictures from our trip because I think you'll like to see. I don't mean to make you homesick though:/
